we were born sick

Warsaw
grey overo stallion - 11 years old - mutt - 16hh - devil’s retribution x sojourner - inlet king

Vita Nova spoke again and though het question was a normal one, the way she ended it stung. Majesty, the word felt like a jab to gis ego and exactly something Morrigan would have said. She had always said everything she could to get under his skin. That is why they had always fought, then made love, then eventually their relationship turned ugly. Much more ugly than the sight of their stillborn son. Still, he managed a simple response.

"I was born somewhere around the crossing." Too much attention was being put on the smokey black mare who taunted him and he knew right then he had to get away. After his question of who led their herd, Vita answers with more words that upset him. He wanted to laugh as she spoke so highly of the current Queens, but he once again bit his tongue until it was his turn to speak. "Many years have passed since I have been here and I do see now much has changed."

He got the answer he was looking for, but it felt like pulling teeth to get it. Petal answered him directly, but this Vita Nova was a different story. She poked at him, pryed for more, and things would not end well for her if this continued on. For once, Warsaw had to eject himself from a conversation in worry of where it might lead. It killed him to think about his current plan with Mariael. If that wasn't in play he would be free to be himself and this Vita Nova would probably be carrying his child about now with Petal as collateral.

Enough...

The stallion turned his head from the two and his eyes trailed back to the sea he came from. All he had to do was slip back into these dark, icy, waters and he could be free. He looked between both girls and gave one last dip of his noble head. "It was nice meeting you both, but I must get back to my sister. You are both welcome to the Inlet any time." Damn politeness! The grey turned and walked back to the sandy shore which lead to the water. His heavy body dipped in until he was fully submerged and he began the swim home. What a wasted trip.
