Maybe I'm overblowing the matter, but I think that Trump will get rid of Mueller; this, by replacing Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein (a career DOJ official whom Trump appointed to his current job back in January of 2017, and who appointed Mueller Special Counsel specifically for the purpose of conducting the investigation), and replacing him with someone who will call an end to the investigation.
As I understand it, firing Mueller might be hard to do, because, by statute, such a firing has to be for demonstrated cause.
In any event, I believe that Mueller's firing will cause such a furor that, this, along with some other negative things that might come up about Trump, could ultimately even end up with Trump's resigning and passing along the job to Pence.
As I say, maybe I'm overblowing the matter.
(Or maybe that is just wishful thinking). Replies:
