He could tell he'd surprised her by pulling her into the water with him. It was an instinct really but he was careful in everything he did when it came to her. Still he knew she could handle it and a part of him looked forward to seeing what she would do to get back at him for it. She was nothing if not a little cunning creature herself so he was sure it wouldn't take her long to cook something up. He wasn't wrong either. He came up for air and made sure she did too, turning to talk and that's when he received a faceful of water. He couldn't help but laugh. She really was a tricky thing. She glared at him for his comment and he laughed some more, trying to splash her back and smirking when he saw her turn her head to keep from getting it in her eyes.
He knew that soon he'd have to go on the hunt again. His dark passenger was nothing if not persistent and it had been a long time since his last kill. That wouldn't do. He worried that he might lash out at someone who didn't deserve it. He was on edge, more aware of his surroundings and restless, on the verge of cranky. With Tuari, it was easier to relax but on his own, he was a whole different wolf. He didn't want her to see that side of him. He didn't want any of his family or friends to see that. He knew Tuari loved him no matter what and she would never think badly of him. That was important but still, he tried to hide his dark passenger the best he could. He circled her like a shark in the water before lunging at her, aiming a kiss to her nose. His eyes lit up in victory right before she placed one back on his and he scrunched up his nose and chuckled.
But then she threw herself at him. He turned away, figuring she was going to splash him again but this time he felt her paws on his head as he was pushed under. He managed to close his mouth and hold his breath as he went down, surprise flashing in his eyes at the turn of events. He would have tried to topple her over but she was quick to swim to shore. Smirking, he came back up and gasped for breath. "What a twisted move. And here I thought you savored every breath I took." He swam to shore after her, climbing onto the bank and sidling right up next to her before he chose to shake the water from his coat, aiming as much of it as he could at her. "Now look at what you made me do."
