The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

how to figure this out

He wasn't sure what to make of the wolf who sat so serenely in the caverns. He had a look of power about him but then Loki heard some wolves liked to call the free lands home and were perfectly content to treat it for all intents and purposes like a packland. Maybe this was one of those wolves. He hadn't gotten close enough yet to pick up a scent on him and there was no breeze in the cavern to push it to him so unless he marched right up to the wolf, he wasn't getting answers unless the wolf chose to give them. He didn't know a lot about the packs in Moladian or the wolves who ran them. He hadn't had a chance to scout all that out yet, but he planned to. After all, if he was going to stick around, he probably needed a pack. He wasn't sure yet what that would do for him, exactly but it had to be better than wandering around the free lands aimlessly.

The minute he answered the other male, a grin lit up the wolf's features, threatening to crack them in two. He seemed awfully amused about something. Loki tilted his head and blinked at him. There was something almost trickster-like in the wolf's eyes, almost like his father Enderly. That's who he reminded him of in those moments and Loki scowled, his ears pinning back. He never did understand his father. Maybe this wolf would be no different. The wolf went on this long tirade about desires and goals before giving his name as Blackthorne. Loki blinked again before answering.

"Loki. I have no desires. A female killed my father. I do want to know why but I don't think I'll get anything out of knowing. I know nothing of suffering. Work or a goal...perhaps. Perhaps those will do something for me." He was thoughtful, more talking to himself than anything by the end of it before he glanced at the wolf again. As the wolf swept his paw, Loki sniffed and took a seat where he was. He wasn't sure about this Blackthorne yet so he wasn't about to put himself within reach too eagerly. That touch of Enderly in his mischeveous eyes had Loki a little on edge. At the wolf's question, he thought for a second. "A wolf. A loner. A son of Enderly, brother of Silas." He named it off like facts in a book, monotone, without feeling.
