Azure had had her eye on him from the moment he stepped foot into their pack, it would seem. Her mother was still in charge of the pack at that time, Azura. Their names were so close and it was hard to tell them apart when Azure reached maturity. As a child, she was small but hardy. He'd found that out quickly enough. She had the ambition of her mother and she was going to make sure she was just as deadly. Even as a child, she followed Exodus around. She questioned him about his parentage and her eyes lit up when he told her about his father Devil May Cry. From that time on, she laid a claim on him. At first he thought it a simple childhood crush but as she grew older, it only grew stronger. By the time she was three, she was all but forcing him into a den with her, threatening to kill other members of the pack if he didn't cooperate.

Even then he didn't want trouble and it wasn't like he had any ties at the time so he gave in and kept her company. He just refused to call her his mate. He never thought about her that way. Sure she was brilliant and deadly but there was no connection there. Then she killed her own mother in the dead of night and took over the pack. No mutiny, no overthrow. Just a good old fashioned assassination. The rest of the pack just accepted it, said that Azura was getting old and weak anyway and for them to thrive, they needed a strong leader. Azure took over as the youngest leader of the pack, but she ruled with an iron thumb. She threatened any who thought to disobey or even hesitate to follow an order. She even tortured wolves. He didn't like it at all, one of the many reasons he found to leave.

He could see that the female wasn't happy about Azure being around. She tensed up and looked fairly unhappy. He shifted. He wasn't too happy about it either. She surprised him by showing gratitude for the information. Then she growled and took a seat. He tilted his head, taking a seat as well. Then she made a comment about Malleah's scent on him and he curled his lip, a warning for her not to get any funny ideas about his mate. He would kill for Malleah in a heartbeat. But it seemed she was only warning him about getting her to a pack. He scowled and shook his head. "She refuses to go to a pack. Too many bad experiences." The female even offered her own pack as a sanctuary. He sighed. "I'll take it under consideration. Thank you."

He glanced around then back at her. "I'm surprised Azure hasn't contacted you yet. I've already gotten 'messages' from her. She's having too much fun tormenting me with her presence, knowing she's so close to my family." He growled as he looked away, his anger getting the best of him when it came to her endangering their family. "She's been sending assassins after me. It's like she's playing with me. She probably is."
