News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

Together they walked along the pathways of his home, and Sleekwing found himself rather quite enjoying her company and the opportunity to tell another about his family. He'd always been a man who had taken great pride in being part of such a prodigious family. Above all else, he had been loyal to Spirane ever since returning to Moladion all those years ago. Even when the land had come under leadership of other wolves, he had remained - whether they wanted him to or not. Perhaps it was for that reason that the history of the pack, his family, rolled so easily from his tongue. Without ever meaning to, he had become something of a historian, one of the senior wolves of Moladion, and one of the scant few remaining who had witnessed the skyfall first hand. For he and a wolf such as Yuki to cross paths was a fortunate thing, indeed.

Yuki seemed only too pleased to listen to what he had to say, soaking in every detail with an open and honest expression upon her features. Each name given seemed to make her smile grow just a touch more, and he took the cue to continue on in his explanation of his family tree. When he spoke of his daughter and grand-niece, a light laugh filled the air and he looked to her with interest, wondering what she found amusing about those particular names. Her observation was taken only as it was meant to be, an amusing realization that he'd considered a time or two himself. He had been born with winged markings, and he had wished to pass something of himself to his daughter who at the same time so greatly resembled her grandmother that it would have been a disservice to not name her in Moonglow's honor. As for Swifttalon, he could not say for sure the reasoning for his nephew's choice. But a knowing smirk pulled at one side of his smiling features, happy to give Yuki a truthful answer that might just as well further mystify her. "Though we are rooted firmly to the ground, Moonfeather is accompanied nearly everywhere she goes by a raven - as was her grandmother MoonGlow. Perhaps the birds fly the skies for them. That which - try as we might from up here - we cannot touch." A bit more symbolic than Sleekwing tended to be, but he couldn't help but indulge the younger female.

An ear flicked towards Yuki as she hesitated, and Sleekwing paused in kind. He was not left to wonder for long what troubled the young woman as her expression shifted towards something heavier than lineages and namesakes. Sleekwing's features became a bit more serious, not quite turning to a frown, simply something more reflective of the troubles that seemed to be boiling up from the packs of Moladion once more. The way she paused upon the mention of Orion's retirement from leadership concerned him, wondering if there was more to it than was publically known. Despite their longstanding alliance, the details of the shift in power were not known to Spirane. The ravens did not carry messages between packs, after all.

Rather than pry, Sleekwing decided it best to stick to what he knew. "The shifts and changes of pack leadership are an inevitability of our lives; whether by battle, negligence, or peaceful exchange. But war - war is something Moladion has not experienced since I was younger even than you. And I cannot help but wonder if something in the muddy soil of Iromar itself inspires it." Now it was his turn to sport furrowed brows and to look to her, wondering what history Orion might have meant to speak of repeating itself, and if it fell in line with his own observations of the changes rippling across Moladion.
