IP: 166.137.12.126

I am sorry to announce that my father-in-law and Betty's father, Max Dixon passed away in his sleep early Tuesday morning April 10, at home with Mona by his side. Max and Mona have been married 74 years and had 6 children. Max had been ill for several months, but continued to play golf until his golf course closed for the winter, He was one week shy of 90 years old when he passed, Max played softball until his mid sixties, in the Men's B and C programs wearing his signature shin guards while pitching for Express Transport and later Expressway Park. Max started out as a truck driver after serving in WWII in the Army, and founded his own trucking company, Express Transport in the early fifties. Max went on to sell the steel hauler in the early eighties. In 1981, Max still an avid softball player in his early 50s, founded and built Expressway Park in Milford. Expressway Park went on to host numerous World, National, and State Championships and served over 360 league teams each week. Expressway Park has won numerous National and State awards as a complex during the 38 years of operations and is the oldest privately held complex in the Cincinnati area that has been operated by the same family for its entire existence. Max is a member of both the Greater Cincinnati Hall of Fame and the Ohio USSSA Hall of fame, for his outstanding dedication to the game that he so dearly loved and was named Softball Man Of The Year in 1991. In 1994, Max, also an avid golfer founded and built Deer Track Golf Course in Goshen which is also family operated.

Funeral will take place Wednesday April 18, 11:30-1:30 and service at 2:30 at the Tufts Funeral home on Rt 28 in Goshen. Burial will follow immediately thereafter. Donations can be made to his favorite charities including The Wounded Warrior Foundation and St Jude Children Foundation in his honor,
