He had forgotten how unforgiving the sea could be. The waves tossed his wirey frame around so harshly he feared drowning, but Cap had never been a coward. He fought on until he finally reached another island. He did regret leaving Salem after that brush with death, but there was a reason he had chanced the swim. He was lonely in the Dunes. Being a recently claimed territory usually meant there was no one else behind to chat with and he didn't know if he could survive the winter alone.
Labored breaths had him sounding like he was having a panic attack and perhaps he had on that swim. He was seriously too old for all this nonsense, but he was a herd animal and had never been without companionship before. Auburn eyes adjusted to the new island as he finslly caught his breath and was able to pay attention to where he was. He could not tell if this was the crossing and he could not properly pick upany scents with all the moisture in the air.
The sea had already tried to kill him and now the land had an eerie setting. Was Kerr trying to chase him off or was it actually his time? He wasn't ready to die yet. The chestnut began to move from the sea and through the thick air. He couldn't see much through the fog, be it his old age or the elements, so he tried squinting to make out shapes shuffling through the commons. Of course that didn't work because soon he found himself smacking his head into an hard object. "By Kerr!" He exclaims and pulls back only to find the mass was moving and alive.
His eyes trail up the tall female figure whose golden coat could not be seen better so close up. It was intimidating how tall she was and he truly wondered if she was the angel of death. "Has Kerr sent you?" His voice was low and showed hints of his freight.
