Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

As a wolf who had never ventured beyond the outer limits of Moladion, I was not ashamed to admit my curiosity about the greater world that laid beyond our doorstep. Most of my life had been spent upon this very mountain, and there were a few of the pack lands whose soil I had never set foot upon. Even so, I was well educated on the broader world. After all, my father had been born to a different realm, and my mother had traveled far and wide across the world as a shamaness. Between their stories of the outside world, and the education I had been brought up on in regards to the rest of Moladion, I had held enough knowledge to successfully govern a pack for more than a decade. But that did not mean I didn't enjoy a tale or two about foreign lands.

When Tyrion gave a name to the tale he would recount, my ears twitched and brows lifted in surprise. Dragon Queen? The familiarity of the title sent a shock through my system, recalling the last time I had seen Leonidas and the sound of those same words upon his lips. It was not a title I had ever born publically, however. I was many things to my pack, and to Moladion - the First Hope of New Moladion, the Mountainborn, Protector of the Realm of Spirane, the Unbroken - but never their Dragon Queen. For that, I had only been recognized by Leonidas.

Ears pricked forward once more as he began to recount the tale. I tried to imagine a younger version of the golden male - perhaps lacking the scars etched in across his features, even more flirtatious in nature and likely just as crass of tongue. I couldn't help but smirk at the image drawn up in my mind. But only all too quickly the tale took a darker turn. A false accusation, the duplicitous actions of a family member that had resulted in his life being spared, and the spiriting away from his home. In the back of my mind I wondered if the true criminal had ever been unveiled, and even if they had whether Tyrion would have ever wanted to return to a home that had effectively turned their backs on him. But the story moved forward, changing focus as the Dragon Queen made her appearance.

It was strange, how in some regards her story aligned with my own. The last daughter of an old lineage - though I was fortunate to only be the last daughter of my parents, with plenty of family still existing within and outside of Moladion - seeking to take back what was rightfully hers. Bright, albeit a bit temperamental. Uncanny, really. There was much more to this Dragon Queen's story, however, and I was grateful for the differences there in. My brows rose as he spoke of her three pet dragons, a creature that existed only in stories, and I admittedly was a bit baffled to hear him recount their living existence in this other realm from which he'd come. The strife faced there, too, in slavery and dealing justice with death. Moladion had its fair share of problems - cannibals, murderers, kidnapping - but slave masters had never reared their ugly heads here. He was right - all wolves deserved to be free.

As he came to the end of his tale, I looked to him with honest curiosity. "I think I would have liked to have met this Dragon Queen of yours. What came to be that you and she parted ways?" After all, if he had been her foremost advisor, certainly she would not have let him go willingly? Then again, perhaps she wouldn't have had it in her to force him to stay either if he chose to go his own way when all was said and done. And now he found himself in a pack once more, unbeknownst to him walking side-by-side with yet another Dragon Queen, and slowly making himself a valuable asset to the Bewilderbeasts who protected the realm now. What a life he had led, indeed.
