Her ears set upon him, followed by her eyes. She flicked her tail as she considered his question thoughtfully. Her voice sang back to the stallion in an earthy tone, “ Something like that. “ she said as she shifted her weight. She swung her head around, offering her nose to Warsaw as the pair greeted each other, so that they could become familiar with the other horse’s scent, and intensity of their breathing patterns. “ Although, I’ve mostly kept to myself. “ she explained, “ You’re the first that’s noticed me. And if not, you’re definitely the first that’s actually wanted to say hello. “
She shifted her weight once more, tossing a glance about the open of the common grounds. Her attention settled back to the stallion, “ So what’s wrong with you? “ she asked playfully. “ Clearly the locals know something about me that you don’t. “ Shenzi offered Warsaw something of an amused look, interested to hear his take. Her eyes wandered his grey form. Compared to their surroundings, he looked like a ghost, radiant and reflective of the sun’s light. He was certainly handsome enough, though. And he smelled of the sea, which meant either he was new, or owned territory off the mainland. Which made him that much more of interest; band stallions who already owned women and territory were always the better bet. Or at least, that’s what her mother had said, once. That was something Shenzi was inclined to believe, too, given her observation of the bachelor stallions and how clueless they seemed.
Shenzi liked a man who was authoritative and dominant. It would mean better, stronger sons and daughters. And it also meant that she would be well protected in the event of danger, or from another stallion, even.
