Bracebridge Sewage Lagoons - no vehicle access

Please note that the entrance gate from Lagoon Lane is left open at times for more convenient access by maintenance workers and the ongoing construction of a new addition to the treatment plant building. Unauthorized vehicles should not be entering the lagoons. If the gate gets closed, your vehicle will be “trapped”.

You can enter on foot from Lagoon Lane or from Kerr Park. The official Trans Canada Trail (renamed The Great Trail) now runs through the Lagoons property from Kerr Park, along the west side of cells 2 and 3, around the corner to go along the north side of cell 4, and across the pipeline to the Chickadee Trail, continuing over to Henry Marsh, and beyond. This was the original trail route before the new plant construction resulted in a “detour” some years ago.

The Muskoka Bird Board is a place to share reports of birds and other nature sightings in Muskoka and surrounding areas. You may also post a question about birds or birding in general. You don't have to include an email address in your post. Remember to include the location of your sightings - even the nearest town or major crossroads would be fine. See the Posting Guidelines for more information and helpful tips about using the Muskoka Bird Board.
