She was trying to understand him, but it was hard. It was a lot of inferring from what she thought she saw. Yet she is young, and her vocabulary is limited to begin with. In fact, she did not understand anything he said for the next few sentences. Her eyes focus in real hard on his lips, but she simply could not grasp it. Her brows furrowed in frustration. She did not like not being able to do something. She wanted to be good at everything she did, but this was a whole different beast. She huffed- not at him, but at the situation.

”I’m sorry I didn’t understand. I’m not that good yet,” she says slightly frustrated. Her eyes divert in a bit of shame. Father had told her that it will take a while to learn and understand reading lips at a high level. She had learned since she was able to, or at least tried her best, but it was still really hard. It had it even harder when Aurora was so mean to her. Yet she wanted to make sure Aurora wasn’t plotting to kill her or insulting her, thus she was determined. But she was not perfect...despite how much she hated that fact.

She did understand when he questioned where her friends were. She straightened up again, blinking as she looked behind her and then back at him. ”I don’t spend every moment with my friends. A lot of them come out at night,” she responds. Father had told her those friends were not real, that they were all in her dreams, and that she was a Dream Walker. They felt real to her, and thus in her mind, they are real.

She didn’t really catch all of what he said about the eating part, just a few words here and there that she thought he was saying with context of the situation. She watched then as he chomped down on it. She watched in a bit of horror as he rips the leg off and then offers her some. She looks a bit shocked at first, as her mind immediately went to herself.

”That...that is what mom and dad do?” she asks her nose wrinkling a bit. ”Do...does this happen to other...wolves?” she asks, concerned, before the smell of the food begins to tempt her. It smelled like food, and that is the only thing that made her curious enough to take a cautious step forward. She sniffs the leg more before licking it a few times. It tasted like food. She then tries to bite off a piece, but it is pretty hard to do. She manages a bit, but it was a lot of work. ”Why is this so hard?” she asks with a frown...wondering if this is what adult life is going to be like.
