Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Return to Lunar Children

As much as Talien loved her children, the pack, and forest of Taviora, after the little run in with Dexter, she knew that she needed to get away... even if it was just to catch her breath. Part of her wanted to turn tail and run beyond the borders of Moladion once more, but seeing Nenetl... spending time hunting with her daughter only reaffirmed the need to remain. As much as her heart and soul hurt over Dexter's choice and knowing that at some point she would have to see him with his mate and be okay with it, her children needed her here... at least her daughter did.

It still irked her nerves that Tuari had become such an influencial figure in her son's life... but deep down she knew that the dark woman could understand her mute boy in a way that she would never be able to. No matter how much she tried, Talien would never be able to help him work through the anger and frustration like Tuari could. She knew first hand what it felt like to have so many things to say but forever be cursed with being unheard. Talien could voice her heart... she could voice what was on her mind. Sadly, it was her son who could not.

She gives her proud head a shake, ridding the frustrating thoughts from her mind and instead focusing on the task at hand.... forgetting. Well, forgetting was perhaps not the best term, because no matter what she did she would always be faced with the ghosts of memories past. But at least for a time she could pretend it did not exist.

Fall was quickly giving way to winter. No longer did the green grasses run waist deep in the world of Moladion. It had been a long time since last Talien found herself in the fields. It was here she had met Thor... here she met his lovely little Glorall mate. It seemed like eons have passed since then but none the less looking upon the fields now do something for her now. A sense of renewed faith and love for life overcomes her. Perhaps it was the open expanse. Thought long turned yellow and brown by the coming winter, the grasses dry and brittle sing a song that only her heart can comprehend. Have faith. A warm smile curves across her lips as a heavy contented sigh escapes her. Peace.

Unlike the last time she had been here, this time the fields were remotely quiet. Only here and there did she catch the flash of fur in the sunlight or catch the faintest hints of conversation between companions. For the most part, it seemed as though winter were settling a sense of hibernation upon the whole world and not just the few prey who chose to revolve around that life cycle. Even the lake itself seemed to fall into a slumber as its waters lapped lazily over the sands and rock that lined the shore.

For a moment Talien allows herself the moment to take in the sight, to take in the feel of calm that overwhelms her here and soothes the turmoil that ran rampant within her. Everything seemed right here in this moment. Until she sees him. A flurry of movement that automatically kicked her predator instinct into overdrive. He ran headlong through the flattened yellow-brown grasses with such intensity and purpose that for a moment Talien was sure that he chased after something. Raven dipped ears flex backwards as the lithe white huntress lets her limbs take over. Claws dig into the dry ground as she stretches her form out with long ground eating strides. Nostrils flare as the scents of the wind and earth flood through her. She searches for whatever prey it is that he chases... but there is none. Only the scents of the fields. He simply ran for the thrill of the run itself. For the first time in a while now, a smile spreads across her ash dusted lips as she speeds after him, a carefree laughter ringing from her lips as she comes alongside him. For a moment she levels out her stride, keeping pace with his own, long enough to meet his gaze with her own shining silver blue. For a moment she keeps herself at his side, white fur brushing against the dark chocolate brown of his own... and then the moment is gone and she shoots ahead of him, long tail wagging happily and carefree as she barks at him an invitation... a game of chase to pass the afternoon away..
