Misty Mountain is opposite of Rainbow Cliff. Mists hover year-round at this high altitude, mistaken by some to be thin clouds. Thin layers of snow cover the mountain, making some areas slippery and hazardous.

Some think it romantic, a place to bring their mates, while others come to play and romp. However, all must agree that there is some level of mystery and spookiness hovering about with the mists...

Fear Makes People Do Terrible Things

_________________________________________________________________________

Paws carried lanky stilts through the colder areas of the forest, a cold bite to the wind that flew through the air. It was cooler now all throughout all of the forest with winter now in season, but even more so near the mountains. Lupin wasn’t sure what drew him to the cold peaks, but whatever it was he wasn’t questioning and it and just let himself wander through the colder lands. He didn’t anticipate meeting more wolves out here, not with the cold chill in the air. Luckily the brown brute had his winter coat fully in and the wind didn’t bother him as it would some with thinner pelts. He had grown up in lands with cold winters and he didn’t need to adjust too much to the change in season. As his paws carried him up the cliffs, the air grew thinner and he went along slower, in no hurry to be anywhere in particular and so he took his time. He knew that one wrong step could lead to his death if he were to fall down these heights, but his well-muscled form took care to make sure he was safe.

When he had gotten to a height that he was comfortable with, he was surprised to see that there was another wolf a bit higher up than he was, and he was curious what would bring another so high up in the mountains. After taking a moment to decide if he wanted to potentially interrupt whatever this stranger was doing up here, he decided that it was worth the risk of potentially bothering the other varg. Pushing forward he felt his muscles strain as he worked them to get up higher. It was even colder than he had expected when he first began the climb, but he had committed already and he wasn’t going to turn around now. Panting a bit as he approached the femme, he spoke up to alert her to his presence. The stranger jumped a bit when he spoke up, and he felt bad for startling her. But what happened next through him off even more. She went into a bit of an emotional tangent, and it as clear that he had unearthed some sort of bottled up emotions. He was startled when he saw that tears were streaming down her face, choked back sobs between forced out words as she spoke. Why else would she react the way that she did when he just said hello to her? As she continued on he grew even more confused. Why did she think that he was trying to trick her? Had the world really been that cruel to her that she couldn’t just accept a friendly stranger as that, just polite? He had no idea what her past held, so he couldn’t say if she was overreacting or if she indeed had experienced horrors that led her to feel this way. Besides, he was no stranger to the evil that lived in this world. His scarred face was proof of that.

When the femme finally paused in her speech to breathe, asking him what it was that he wanted and why he had come to this particular peak, he quickly spoke up, hoping to get some sort of answers from her. ”I honestly do not know what brought me to this peak, or even to the mountains in general today. I was just out for a stroll when I found myself here. I was curious what another wolf was doing up in these parts in the winter, that is all. I promise I hold no ill will against you. I can leave if you would prefer though, I didn’t mean to cause you any distress, I apologize.” Lupin was expecting her to dismiss him, to badger him more for interrupting her and bothering her, but instead she went on to introduce herself. “I’m sorry… None of this is your fault or because of you. I just do not have the best hand gifted to me when it comes to life in general. My name is Briseis, what is yours?” He was surprised by her change of attitude, and he cocked his head at her for a moment as he took it in. Maybe he had just stumbled upon her in the wrong time was all. Lupin gave her a soft smile, hoping that she wouldn’t take it the wrong way with her change of attitude. ”Briseis…it is nice to meet you. My name is Lupin, from Wudubearo. I’m sorry that it seems that life has dealt you a hard hand. I wish there was a way I could help.” He knew from experience that often times there was often no one that could help make the horrors any better. But if there was something he could do to make the obviously emotional femme feel better, he would try.
