Her mind was a fascinating thing, and thus he did not mind following her lead on many things in life already. They were so different and yet related so well. She only made him smile so far. She seemed okay with the thought of the ocean having its own mind, but it was the only thing that made sense to him right now.
She was curious and amazed at the clams and how they scurried to bury themselves when he lifted them, but then wondered about their family and living in the dirt. He could only simply tilt his head at first. They simply live different types of lives, just as all animals seem to do.
”They...is living, with family, all together, in sand, all of sand, big den. Not needing...air?” he says while tilting his head the other way. But the birds were much more a distraction- and perhaps simply just more familiar to her and thus something more interesting. He knew much about these birds, and he figured when he mentioned them flying when chased, that is exactly what she would do.
Thus he giggles with her as dashes alongside her, feeling the breeze of the ocean air upon them both. It was such a freeing feeling and he had completely forgotten about Ava’s potential prying eyes. They chase the birds, who fly up in the air and chatter with discontent, and yet they immediately plop down again behind them once they run on. He pivots and turns in the sand with a bark. He surprises one who begins to fly, and he jumps a rather impressive jump and clips the wing. He pulls it down to the earth and instinctively he goes for the kill shot. They were indeed potential food, it just tended to be difficult to catch a bird. He was caught up in the moment as he lifts his head to see the blood on the bird, and then he looked for Lucia...hoping maybe she wanted to try a new bird dinner. ”Eh….um….you...eat?” he asks, green eyes glimmering as he does so.
