Dania Scratches Available ONLY 10 minutes prior to Game 1 is ridiculous (Benny - please read this one) Posted on May 14, 2018 at 07:40:55 AM by StraymarJA
No other parimutuel wagering site gives you scratches at 10-minutes to post of first game/race, they are all AT LEAST 30-minutes before the first race.
This extremely short notice is burdensome to those of us that handicap or plan multi-ticket wagers. Especially ridiculous when you have to re-run computer simulations of the games with such short notice and restructure your bets. With a Daily Double game 1, and a Pick 3 game 3, the info is needed much sooner.
This needs to change. There is no good reason the scratches couldn't be scrolled at the bottom of the video when it comes on 30-minutes prior to game 1 (unless Dania allows the players to make their "sick-call" at 10-minutes before game 1). If that's the Dania policy on sick-call-in, it's no way to run a business.
This essential scratch information is needed FAR SOONER than 10-minutes prior to game 1. I've even heard scratches announced at 5-minutes prior game 1 (this is ridiculous).
Benny - I hope you are listening to this one as it's an easy change. It should be a state requirement to post the scratches within 30-minutes prior to game 1.
Scratches can be a big impact when a late game player gets substituted for an early games player that scratched, or vice versa.
Sure, we can "guess" that someone who has been scratched for several performances MIGHT be scratched again, but lately there have been some surprise scratches, including multiple scratches of two early game back-court players, and only one substitute is posted in program, who the heck knows who the other sub will be?
This short-sightedness by Dania with announcing the known changes at 10 mtp surely can't be a good situation for the customers at the fronton where there is 2-tellers. I would imagine there are customers who return to the window to cancel tickets and make changes when scratches are known.
C'mon Dania, you can do better than this. A definite area for improvement here. Most jai-alai bettors don't run the same numbers game for game any more and base their wagers on the players, so scratch information is crucial to bet planning. MORE time is certainly needed. We want to be able to watch and enjoy the games, not be doing last minute scrambling on how to change bets while games are being played. Help us out a little here?
