Orr Tract Birds and Butterflies

Spent the morning on the Orr Tract of Simcoe County Forests at the north end of Uhthoff Line on the Precambrian Shield part of Simcoe County. Lots of calling Eastern Towhees, Field Sparrows, Brown Thrashers, Yellow Warblers and Ovenbirds as there has been now for several days but new calls today were Chestnut-sided Warblers, Wood Thrushes and Baltimore Orioles. Several dozen Blue Spring Moths and Olympian Marbles again today mixed in with Spring Azures, Eastern Pine Elfins, Eastern Commas, Green Comas, Gray Commas and Mourning Cloaks. Found a Song Sparrow nest already with five eggs. No new species of mosses or lichens but lots present. No Brown or Henry's Elfins observed.
