The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Matianak liked that the world around her was also suspicious. Her motives were never truly clear unless she chose to make it known. It was among the reasons she and her brother seemed to get along better now as they grew and matured. They both still held some suspicions of each other, but it was easier to work to similar ends. Or at least not to interfere and hinder the others' workings as much as possible. The grey female had contemplated departing Glorall, but in the end, being considered beneath Blackthorne had stayed her paw.

At least in the seaside pack, she knew exactly where things stood. With her dearest brother, there was always a tenuous thread that could break at any moment. "Might as well blind them to everything then. It would go well with his missing ear," she said with a wry smile. He was a handsome wolf, this northern king, even with his missing ear. It said something of a wolf who walked away with little more damage than that after a fight.

A bit of a sigh escaped her. "I wish there wasn't; it would be easier to get them away otherwise. I expect after your escapade, he will be returning to Glorall soon. I have a young friend who will prove quite helpful, even if he doesn't realize it," she said. Matianak mused over the possibilities with Triton briefly. There was much, and given his age, possibly her 'in' with the younger pups in the pack.

Her pale blue eyes followed Thorne as he paced. The woman nodded in agreement. To kill one of those pups, even if they weren't Arturio's was folly. If nothing else, they were his imprint's, and that would be enough to draw the man's fury should something happen to them. "One thing is certain, it must appear as though the little thing wandered off. Otherwise, you will have Glorall on your doorstep as well," she added. Matianak tilted her head, a bit of genuine curiosity showing in her eyes. "Do tell, sweet brother." This was an interesting turn. She genuinely did wonder what news he had, and by the tone of his voice, it would be quite interesting.
