I seen a cata mount

I live in Massachusetts. My father owns a house on Lake Champlain in Ferrisburgh. About 5 years ago I was walking up the road with my son and we seen a catamount. I went back to the house and got the truck and went back to the site and it was gone. As I walked in the woods about 15 ft there was a deer carcass and deer fur everywhere. I know what I saw and it was definitely a catamount
