aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

To Love Is To Destroy

Numb. That was all the beast felt anymore. He should have been bored, or angry, vengeful, sad even. Realistically, he felt all those things. But, in the passing time since the mess of deaths among the rainbows he had regressed into the demon he was once trained to be. There wasn't much point in feelings anymore. To love is to destroy and he had been experiencing a lot of destruction lately. Far too much.

Heterochromic optics stared at the sky as they had every day, for several days. Archangel layed sprawled out on his scarred spine. Tree trunk, scale endowed limbs flopped carelessly in all directions. This place was safe for the rainbows he had since sworn himself to protect. What else was he going to do anyway? He couldn't go home, so this would have to make do. Boring though it was. He saw the rainbows in passing here and there but they still seemed sad, or something of the sort. Their feelings still confused him along with their tiny statures and multicolored fibers. Not to mention they had their valiant Tempests to play guard. There was some kind of bond or something between the species that he still hadn't quite figured out. The demon hadn't yet bothered to ask yet, it hadn't seemed like the right time to be playing 20 questions. Instead he hunted mice, fought with trees and lazed about in his new favorite sun drenched clearing. For a while all he could think of every second of every day was his Vera. What he could have done to save her, how he could have tortured her murderer instead of giving him a swift and bloody death. He could still taste the vile lupin's blood between his teeth. At some point though, he stopped thinking, stopped questioning. And arrived at numb. Just, numb.

The fallen angel planned entirely to spend the rest of this day doing exactly nothing. Just staring at the sky until the moon showed his smile. He probably still wouldn't have even moved then. However; the haunting yet quiet sound of crying filled his damaged auds. Sea-foam and ocean irises shifted from their blank dreams as if to find the source. A flick of his right flag and a turn of his massive skull and he heard the sound again. Someone, somewhere was definitely crying. Damnit.

For a moment, a very brief moment, the beast hoped someone else would handle the situation. Until he remembered his promise to himself. Damnit all. He released a rough sigh before rolling onto his side and stretching his extremities. Without urgency he brought himself to a standing position before shaking his thick yet damaged pelt free of debris and leaves. After another sigh and an angry glare at the divot he had placed in the soft earth, the demon was on the move.

It wasn't hard to find her. Her delicate sobs echoed through most of the land thanks to the trees. He found her balled up under an old white oak tree. Her shoulders heaved with each cry. For a moment, he hesitated. What the hell was he supposed to do with a crying princess? That isn't something his father taught him, or anyone for that matter. And he certainly wasn't the type to have the right words to fix everything. But, he was there, and he had already stepped into the situation, there was no leaving now. Archangel clenched his eyes for a second before leaving the cover of the forest and approaching the delicate royalty.

She must have heard his steps because suddenly her woes ceased and she spun to face him. Tiny paws wiped frantically away at her face, attempting to erase her tears. Another version of the beast would have smiled sympathetically at the feat. Instead, his mismatched eyes simply stared. First at her, then quickly around at the surroundings to ensure lack of imminent danger before returning to see her gaze meeting his own. Once he had reached her the brute halted and stood guarded. He towered over her and offered to lower his head so he could be more on her level.

"Why are you crying?"

He asked gruffly in his typical brooding way with a slight tilt of his cranium. The beast definitely wasn't one for many words.
