Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

heros may die...but legends endure

Zelda didn’t like him, not one bit. It was apparent by her tones, her choice of words and actions against him that she didn’t like him, though perhaps for him even that was tame and considered kind in some ways. She would be cordial until otherwise provoked into being anything else but, however she was aware how he tried to lead her into things, such as the agreement they had made when she had taken Archana and Whisper back to Taviora. She wouldn’t let him just do whatever he wished, but she would not help the other in what seemed like a personal quarrel either. So, as long as they didn’t drag her entire pack, or anyone else into it she didn’t feel she should interfere. Perhaps it was overly passive, but when she didn’t even understand what was going on, why should she right now? No one had explained to her what had gone on after all, perhaps it was a bad thing, or perhaps it didn’t yet matter.

Still she could tell her words pleased him somewhat. His gleeful look at her statement saying that if she wanted she could have someone kill him now if she saw fit. Now, that wasn’t to say if a vengeful Pine or Halcyon came rushing out of the trees to kill him she would stop them (she said she wouldn’t interfere right?) but she wasn’t going to do anything, but she rather not have any of that happen in her forest. It was peaceful, and little blood had ever been spilled on its soil. She wanted to keep it that way. Though she felt like she had almost cut him with her second set of words. She presumed he lived a pretty violent hateful life over there in the moors now, his fate told her either she was very right, or very wrong, she gathered it was probably the former yet his words made her let out a little “hmm” in acknowledgement. Further proof she saw it as, though it also worried her to what exactly he had planned in their futures.

He wore his feelings on a sleeve, not unlike her, but his angry look bid little response but a narrowing of her brows. What? Was she to drop all her old alliances at the drop of HIS whim? She didn’t think so. What was HE going to do about it if she didn’t? She didn’t wish for bloodshed, yet he had to know what a losing battle it would be the moment he made an enemy of the forest. She had Pine, Aster, Halcyon, almost all the old hierarchy essentially, was here and raring and ready to go to act against him, and how quickly would her allies jump at the chance behind her, especially Diveen apparently, if she so asked? If Aspis was as lost of a cause as he said, he was choosing to stay there, then what sway did he have over Zelda now? His position was a lesser one now in this game. However she seemed appease him slightly when she said she had no interest in their personal squabble still. His words about him being a snake though seemed to be the opposite of what Dirk had told her of the nobel white wolf he served.

Finally though it did seem she might get one side at least of the story. Listening as he stated Arturio had overstepped his boundaries though she still didn’t understand completely what he meant. ”I wasn’t aware he had taken something that was of a divine right. I am not even entirely sure what you mean by this. Though if he made a direct call to challenge and fight with you that certainly does sound like something that I will not interfere with.“ She says though she does want to understand more. Cryptic as always he was, and she had to admit, by this telling it sounded a lot less interesting or deep than she thought it would be. It was starting to sound like two males were just fighting to fight at this point.

”He is poking the hibernating bear to do that. I do not like you Blackthorne, but your quarrels and what you take up is your own so long as you don’t bring harm upon my forest and wolves within and you don’t dredge up something that might make me act. You will make your own bed and sleep in it as you go with this little fights that come to you or you make. Remember that as you walk whatever path you plan.” She warned him wondering what boundaries she might be pressing with him. Her tones had been lower, more in warning than any of her others but she was making it clear to him that she wasn’t helping him, she wasn’t helping this white wolf in what seemed like a personal fight all around.

”If that’s all you have to threaten or offer or whatever it is you came here for then you can see yourself back home, yes?” Her tones were light and friendly as ever, though she did wonder if that was really all he exactly wanted. Seemed like such a long way to travel to tell her something so little, but it was important to him apparently, and she would wonder about that and keep it in her pocket for the time being. Time would tell, her wolves would tell her, it was just something that would come in due time.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
