Breeding Season Bird Movement

This afternoon I heard two bird species in my neighbourhood that just showed up here. A Great Created Flycatcher and a Red Eyed Vireo.
I'm sure both birds have returned from the south sometime ago and are wandering.
I have done Forest Bird Monitoring in the Wasaga Blueberry Plains for 25 years and found that many birds found during the first survey are absent two weeks later and there are new species found two weeks later on the same sites.
It seems that wandering during the breeding season is common and may mean that even common birds don't always find mates or suffer offspring destruction during nesting.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
