Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Citlalli
Female ~ 2 YEARS OLD ~ 35IN/169LBS ~ Born To Dexter X Tuari
Sibling to Petra & Itzel~Bound to Dash

She was sure Zelda must know a lot and could teach her from what she'd seen and experienced so the past didn't repeat itself. She wanted to keep Dash safe more than anything. He was her soulmate and she'd be damned before she let anyone ruin that. Zelda must have picked up on something from her when she brought up the two year old party, but it meant a lot to Citlalli that she was using her information to warn and protect Citlalli rather than ask questions and find out who her imprint is. Citlalli would tell her in a heartbeat, cause she trusted Zelda and knew she would protect the information but at the same time, she didn't want to endanger Zelda by letting her know if some day that information could be used against them both. Citlalli did plan on rising into a higher rank some day and she knew that might put a target on Dash's back. She would protect him and her pack at all costs but Zelda was right. She needed to safeguard his identity as her imprint as much as possible.

Zelda seemed surprised when Citlalli told her what she did know about the Jinan/Paisley deaths but then Citlalli felt she was often protected from depressing information like that from her parents. Plus though Jinan was her mother's brother, her mother was still protective over him and his memory and probably didn't want to give her a lot of details because she didn't feel they were necessary for her to know. Tuari was always a mother first and she would protect her daughters no matter what. Citlalli knew that. She wouldn't hold it against her mother for not telling her nor her father if Tuari had cautioned him not to tell them more. Still, she wondered if now that she'd brought it up, if Zelda would tell her the rest or if she would feel maybe she shouldn't since Citlalli wasn't told in the first place. When she told Zelda what she knew, the alpha looked away, a pure face of sadness in her expression.

Finally Zelda spoke, telling Citlalli the generations and how each handled the loss of their imprint. Death seemed to follow death. Citlalli's brows raised. She hadn't known about Rhae and Iblis. She of course knew that her grandmother Moth had died some time back and left Coza but apparently she was much older than Coza. She could tell there was a part of her grandfather that didn't feel whole anymore because she was gone and she often wondered why Fate worked that way. Why didn't it allow some wolves to imprint again, something to fill that hole? Or did each individual wolf decide whether they could connect like that again with someone. Coza had loved Moth with everything he had. Citlalli had picked that up from their story times. There was a light in his eyes when he talked about her. She could imagine he would have chosen not to connect like that again. Too much of him had belonged to Moth. She knew that could easily happen with her and Dash.

She was growing closer to him by the second and she didn't want to stop. So that meant she'd have to protect him always. She might have to lie and she might have to pretend even that she didn't care to keep him safe. She wasn't born into decieving. The very idea of it stung her tongue. But she would do anything at the end of the day to keep him safe and well. She nodded, letting Zelda know she understood the message loud and clear. Zelda told her she'd heard it affected the male more than the female and she tilted her head, thinking back on her interactions with Dash. He certainly seemed more confused and affected by her decisions than she did by his so maybe that was right after all. "Amazing and terrifying. That sounds about right." She mused more to herself than anything before glancing up at Zelda. "Thank you for telling me. I feel better prepared to protect him now."

Zelda told her to keep it close and she nodded. She cautioned Citlalli against the alpha of Iromar, bringing up how he used children against their parents and she could see him using imprints in the same manner. The idea made her heart squeeze for a minute at the very thought of him getting ahold of Dash. She couldn't let it happen. When she met Zelda's gaze, it was with sharp determination. "I will take these words to heart, Zelda. Thank you again. I'll head to Spirane now and start my training. I will be worthy to be your Power when I return." She smiled, her eyes turning into that of a child once more as she rushed forward and embraced her aunt, pressing herself against her chest and legs as she licked her jaw before backing up. Then the guards came back up and there was no longer a child but a young adult, maturing fast into an indomitable force standing before her. She nodded. "Stay safe, until I can do that for you." With a small smirk, she turned and trotted toward the borders facing the mountains.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
