third hybrid pup: male. takes after Ingmar. A basecoat of beautiful steely blue-grey, just like his sire - a color fit for medieval armor. He too has been blessed by the merle gene - smoky black splashes all four limbs up to his underbelly, where the darkness shatters into irregular patches that travel up his sides and neck until they are the smallest of flecks at his back and face. Charcoal rings his bushy tail like the banner of a raccoon - and to complete the bandit ensemble, black pours horizontally across his eyes like a mask. It is a thin bandana, wide enough to sweep over his peepers, but it does not stretch toward his cheekbones or eyebrows; it reaches toward either corner of his face, where its ends mingle with the shadowy freckles found in the rest of his pelt. His mother's tundra snow only blesses him in a few places: a large diamond that shines brightly upon his chest, and a spot behind each triangular ear. His eyes are his father's stunning china blue, marbled throughout by the thinnest threads of his mother's warm honey.
As for mutations? My, this little kirin is quite unexpected. While his brother inherited their father's moose rack, this boy will grow up to display antlers of an entirely different variety: those of the Eld's Deer. When fully grown they will resemble a pair of bows upon his brow, ready to shoot arrows. And his scales? Not his mother's shimmering rainbow boa, but instead the black-striped blue of venomous sea snakes.
