has to be a 50c wager Posted on June 13, 2018 at 06:32:07 PM by StraymarJA
anyone that bets horses is used to 50c pick 4s, so when one of those gamblers comes to jai-alai and sees that it's a $1 ticket, that is an immediate turn-off, and then when they realize there is no consolation payoff on the Pick 4 (which is NOT the case for horse racing pick 4's, unless it's one of several Canadian $1 Pick 4's), they may consider never betting on jai-alai again.....a big turn-off
the $12 handle on Pick 4 today is a joke
no need to beat this dead horse to death any more....I would imagine most of the Pick 5's had this much or more in the carryover by now ($285), if anything, they should have made the Pick 5 a 50c Pick 6 with consolation and then they could have built up some pretty nice pots and drawn some big interest and excitement with giant pots eventually
this pick 4 is pretty un-exciting
Now, on the other hand, I am betting a $1 Pick 4 as Canadian track Assiniboia Downs tonight that has a carryover of $26,385. The field sizes are 7x8x8x8. There is no consolation on this bet, but there are two races where I like horses with some high ML odds that I'm locking and using ALLs in the other two legs, a $56 investment which could be a big payoff.
