At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

We'll be alright

Perry didn’t understand why they’d had to leave. He liked his home and his nice warm den. He liked the familiarity of it and the nice scents of his packmates. He didn’t want to go to some new place without his parents. The world was so big and scary and they made it feel safe and cozy. But he was not one to protest so when he and his siblings were ushered away he simply let it happen and followed Hope’s lead.

The prince eyed the den Hope had led the troop to warily. It didn’t look at all homey. But she seemed to be set on it, so he sat patiently while she busied herself inside the den, occasionally glancing at his siblings and looking around them. What was so special about this place that they had to come here? It didn’t look like much. Peregrine thought home was far better. Home…. was that what they were meant to call this place now? Because he would not. This was not his home and it never would be. He belonged with the Akasha, not here, where he was out of the ordinary. The boy didn’t want to be here at all.

Hope’s return to the group brought Perry’s cobalt eyes snapping to her and he watched her pick up his rambunctious sister and carry her inside the den. Standing up with a sigh, he followed the pair into the den, even as Hope called out. The boy chose his nest quickly, wanting nothing more than to curl up and try and picture their old den. His aud twitched at the soft footsteps of Hope leaving the den again, but he squeezed his eyes closed in hopes of sleeping. That was the best way to pretend he was home. Besides, the light outside was dimming, the pups’ own coats seemingly brighter now. It was the perfect time to rest.

Sleep did not come fast enough, however, and a nudge in Perry’s side had him back from his semi-awake state to a full one. He blinked up at Hope then towards the wall across from him. He perked up instantly at the sight of all the treasures Hope had brought and practically tripped scrambling out of his den towards them. Immediately he darted for the blue jay feather. He liked them most of all. Though his eyes were far, far darker, a younger Perry had decided that any and all blue things were his favorites, thus it had been his favorite color since was able to see his reflection.

“Thank you, Hope.” He smiled brightly at the caretaker. How nice she was for going to the trouble of finding all these things for them!

I want to try again
