Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.

My Philosophy is That Worrying Means You Suffer Twice

_________________________________________________________________________

The brute wasn’t sure what had brought him out and about at night once again, but he once again found his emerald green limbs padding through the forests at night. The moon and stars led his way as a cool breeze ruffled his yellow draped fur. Whenever he was within Dierne Hrof’s packlands he often felt that it was too crowded. There were so many wolves in the pack, and so many that seemed to follow him. Vladmir, his bonded protector, always wanted to know where he was and what he was doing. In a sense Scamander was grateful for that, but at the same time he didn’t always need the Tempest around. Would it really be the end of the world if he wandered about a bit on his own? If he really thought about it, he knew that it could be. He knew that there were creatures out there that hunted and longed for his kind, but in his rebellious teens he didn’t care. If it wasn’t Vladimir that was following him about, it was another rainbow…Losa, Zawyne, any of the others. He was glad that they were all safe and could feel at home in the pack, but it was also overwhelming to always be surrounded by others. He just wanted some time for himself and with his thoughts.

So wandering out at night alone seemed like a great idea at the time. Scamander had even forgotten about his last venture out alone, when he had met his first vampire. It wasn’t as scary as he had been told it would be, the fact that he made it out alive spoke for itself. Sometimes Scamander thought about that night, and wondered why Diosa hadn’t attacked him as everyone said a vampire would? But usually he just tried to brush it out of his mind, not wanting to dwell on the horrors of what could have happened. He was still alive now, and that was what mattered. It was ironic that his second adventure out alone at night would lead to his second encounter with the vampire female. She snuck up on him, though it probably was not on purpose. Her kind had no scent, and lost in his own thoughts Scamander had not heard the sound of anyone approaching, and it wasn’t until her vocals reached his dark green ears. He spun on his paws to face her, unsure of her intentions. Why had she found him again? Was their first encounter not enough?

Scamander was not expecting what came next though. A flood of words escaped Diosa’s mouth, as if she had been holding them back and had finally let the gate open to let it all just pour out. There was a fire behind her words, hurt and anger forcing them out. Her words were something that he had never thought about before. He couldn’t imagine what it would feel like to be made into what she was. What would he have done, if he had not been born an Arcus Irae but instead had been made into one of these supposed blood thirsty creatures? Would he give in to the desires and cravings, or would he be strong like Diosa and try to stay true to who she really was? Honestly, he wasn’t sure. He had never been in a situation like that, so he couldn’t say what he would or wouldn’t do. Scamander grew up with the rainbows, and wasn’t thrown off or surprised by the unique and pretty colors that they displayed. He never thought what it looked like to others that had never seen their kind before. Diosa’s words showed hurt and pain, and that was not something that Scamander had ever thought of. He previously prided himself on being a nonjudgmental and kind wolf, but here he was judging this female just because of her breed. That was not something that he had ever pictured himself doing, and shame washed through him.

Diosa had ended her speech, and was just looking down at her paws, and to Scamander she just looked sad. Looked like any other wolf that might be going through a hard time in life and just needed a friend. Did it really matter that she was a kind that was supposed to hate him and want to kill him? Surely if that had been her goal he would be dead by now, this was now her second chance to feed on him. And yet she made no move to attack him or harm him in anyways. Taking a nervous step, he came a little closer to her, not touching her, still afraid of what might happen if he did that, but closing the wide gap that had been left between them. ”Diosa….I….I’m sorry.” His mismatched orbs flickered to her before looking away, not wanting her to see the guilt he felt. ”I never thought of what it must be like, to be a…a vampire. And what it’s like to see my kind for the first time, for anyone. Noones ever told me that before, and I’ve just assumed it was…normal to see us I guess. I didn’t mean to…judge you so harshly.” He took one final step, the distance now quite small between the two. The could touch if either reached their muzzle far enough forward. But he remained where he was, tense and unsure of what would happen next.
