THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

I have had an email from the family of the late Captain Kendal T Blamey MC and Bar.
See below

Dear Mr Laverick,

I recently came across the Lancashire Fusiliers website as I was doing some research on my great grandfather Captain Kendal T Blamey.

I understand from the website that a gentleman by the name of Joe Eastwood may have been in possession of the walking stick presented to Kendal while he was in the Lancashire Fusiliers.

The stick is of great interest to me as an item that previously belonged to a long lost relative. This has become ever more relevant as my grandfather, Kendalís son recently passed away as well. It would give me great pleasure to be able to obtain the stick and present it to my father as he also has a great interest in our family history.

Do you know if the stick remains with Mr Eastwood or a member of his family? Perhaps there is someone who I could contact to discuss this?

It seems from the website that Mr Eastwood may have also passed away recently so perhaps it has been lost into the public again already.

Hopefully you may be able to help.

Kind regards
Thomas Blamey

The stick was in Joe's locker and since Joe's sad death all his things have been sold or given to LF's. I cannot trace the stick and Jane Eastwood cannot remember where it went. Has anyone got it or know where it went? If you know please let me know.
