At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

_________________________________________________________________________ Adara had never been one who loved battles or violence, really she had never even experienced a fight before. She had always been one to use her words first and try to resolve arguments in a calm fashion. So far in her life that had been enough and she had never had to resort to violence. She still had the skills of a fighter, her mother trained her and her brothers to defend themselves should the need ever arise, and with her figure from her father she was built to be a warrior. She just didn’t have the heart of one. But becoming a Tempest and guardian to two Arcus Irae, she now felt the need to fight. She had to protect them, do anything she could to keep them safe and keep the world as good of a place as it could be for them. And now that meant war with the vampires. It was not just for the protection of the rainbows though, but to help her father as well. His mate had been taken, and even though she was not her mother, she still had a relationship with her, and would do whatever she could to help find her. And so the femme found herself by her father’s side, anxiously waiting for it all to begin, unsure of how this would all play out. The pair were joined by two other wolves, two who should not be here…Khaleesi and Seraphina. Neither were Tempests and would be more vulnerable to the vampires venom just as Kalgalath would be. It seemed that her brother, who was quickly running to join them, had the same thought as he came running through the trees, telling the two other femmes to get to safety. It did not take long for them to be joined by others. Adara caught glimpse of her first vampire, who targeted her father and went directly for him. Her fighting instincts were not as good as her father or brother’s, and she froze on the spot, watching as if frozen in place. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Khaleesi getting away, trying to usher Seraphina out of the way as well. It seemed that maybe she was here to help take care of them, but not necessarily to fight. And she knew the danger that the two of them were in. Her attention turned back to her brother when he launched himself to attack a second vampire who had come in, closely followed by a crying femme. When Aindreas got himself trapped under the vampire in the water, Adara finally acted. Everything that had been freezing her in place before turned off, and she launched forward to try and help her brother. She knew that he was a good fighter, just like their father, but she still felt the urge to help him. The silvery femme charged forward with a snarl that was quite unlike her normal self, aiming directly for the vampire that was entangled with Aindreas. She forgot momentarily about the other wolf that had followed him in, and focused on the vampire. She hoped that he would be distracted enough with Aindreas that Adara could land some damage on him, throw him off of his game maybe. She knew she wouldn’t have a clear shot of his jugular or vital organs, so she targeted his hind limb, hoping that he would be so focused on Aindreas and not on her. If she hit her target, she would try to dislocate his limb, making him much more vulnerable in the fight. But if she missed she would try to do as much damage as possible to whatever area she may sink her teeth into.
