Cypress

tomorrow i will come back, leader of the whole pack

Danny stifled a groan in the background while Cypress widened her eyes and lifted her brows in a rather obvious "go along with it, Thoth!" expression. It did little good - the damage was already done by the time he caught up. Cypress chewed her bottom lip gaze flicking from Thoth back to the woman. Danny was too far behind her, and at an angle, for her to see well encased in the crystal as she was. Her mind raced as she tried to think of how to respond... Surely there had to be some way for her - for them - to get out of this situation without... Her heart sank in her chest. She didn't even know what they would do to Thoth if they figured out who he was - and somehow that made it worse.

Cypress startled guiltily as the woman snapped her picture, feeling more vulnerable and exposed than ever. Though she'd remained still in her crystal up until that point, she started to struggle a bit - or tried to struggle, at least - as the woman moved on to Thoth. Her mouth dropped open but nothing came out. Her mind went blank, her heart thudding and mouth going dry. Something horrible was going to happen to Thoth, and she was right next to him and she couldn't do anything.

The breathless, painful feeling in the air began to increase, and she shot a frightened glance towards Thoth. Then... chaos. Cypress dropped to the floor, hard, before she even thought about catching herself. Her head rapped against the ground, dazing her as raindrops pelted her abruptly from the open window.

"Cypress!" Danny called, struggling futilely in his crystal. Thoth was engaging the Aurans, Cypress was down, and he was stuck in this damn crystal! He had to do something! He had to think- WHAM! Danny winced as his crystal wobbled, trying to get a glimpse at what was happening when he was hit again. Bits of the crystal broke apart, cascading to the ground. He seized the opportunity, working his magic into the cracks and bursting it apart. On a roll with his telekinesis, he propelled the bits of crystal into the air and hucked them with all his might at the man and moving to Cypress' side. She was on her hands and knees, still a little shaky and bleeding in places from the crystals, but recovering. Danny yanked her to her feet; not the best plan, medically, but she had to be up if they had any chance.

The man had broken free of Thoth's control, and Danny's crystals had done little good. He was coming right for them. The two barely noticed the fog starting. Danny was wracking his brain on how to use his magic when Cypress lunged ahead, punching the man square in the jaw. It seemed to surprise him, his head rocking back and eyes widening, but he recovered quickly. A knife appeared in his hands and he slashed widely...

And became a Pomeranian. The little dog stared at them for a long time, then yapped anxiously. Cypress ignored it completely, wobbling a little on her feet and holding her head as she hurried towards where Thoth was. Danny, however, was too busy staring at the dog to react to anything else.

Cypress nodded a little - quickly stopping as it made her head ache more - at Thoth's question, reaching out to touch his arm and reassure herself he was alright.

"We have to get out of here," she said, tangling her fingers in his both to pull him away and to comfort herself. She was wet, and her head hurt, but they were alive. Now if only she could stop shaking...

"Where to?" Danny said, nudging the still-barking little dog into the closet with his foot and closing the door.
