 Tell me, tell me I survived. I listen with interest as Persephone continues on about Warsaw. My heavy cranium cocks to one side as I weigh her words, my ears flicking forward and back as I register them and consider my own thoughts. Eventually I snort in response, my jaw clenching tight. I find the whole premise of an individual like Warsaw to be a ridiculous waste of time in this day and age. "If he sticks around long enough, I'm sure he'll realize soon enough that you and Mariael deserve the same respect as any other herd leader. He'd be foolish otherwise." I say gruffly. I bob my head quickly and smile when the roan mare does in solidarity. Perhaps whatever lingering issues were behind us, now. But the conversation shifts to the Lagoon, and my interest piques. Unfortunately Persephone's knowledge of Cullen seems just about as limited as mine. But at least having a conversation about it unites us and the island as a united front. "Psychedelic has a long history in the Lagoon. He served under my brother, Kasabian, whom not that long ago tried to kill Evaline. Hence the outburst you witnessed between them." I explain quickly. It felt uncomfortable to say Kasabian's name out loud after all this time. "If he was smart, he'd be hiding somewhere else. But naturally, he is welcome there and would likely be protected." This Cullen character, despite how little we've heard of him, seemed equally of concern. "I don't know Cullen well. I fought him to free a mare recently, and he is a strong opponent. I agimine that's a character trait that carries over to other... areas about him, as well." I say in fair warning. "We should just tread carefully. And perhaps check in more frequently, if you agree." |
