You can complain all you want about Moorfields but having it on your CV will improve it. Go and get the actual 50 grafts done in some sheathole unit like Bradford but unless you have a fellowship with name recognition then forget a real job. Trust me, no one has heard of any eye units anywhere else in the world. I spent a year abroad carefully explaining what and where KING’S Hospital was to Americans who assumed that as someone from the UK I worked at Moorfields. Plus there are 200 eye doctors in one building and we are a bloody riot. It’s like being back in medical school. You don’t have to sit with stupid orthopods or bum doctors in the mess.
