Hearing her brother laugh made Idrisa smile. How long had it been since he had felt happy, even if it was just a small ounce? What he went through while trapped within Iromar, she would never know. But that was in the past now. They were looking into the future now and she knew that all she wanted to do was protect her brother and make his life happy.
She couldn't do it as she was now. It was no secret she was unskilled and if they were to survive, the ex-princess was going to need to shape up and pull her weight. The moment of happiness fades from his face and is replaced by an expression of fury. The red girl doesn't even blink, but simply nods at his statement. One day. In the coming weeks, that was a phrase they were going to hear a lot, she suspected.
Aspis had never killed another wolf. A sudden relief filled her, though she had no idea that had been a stress she had been carrying. Deep down, even after everything, her brother was still good. There may come a day when he, maybe even she, would have to take the life of another, but at least it would be on their terms then. Blackthorne had tainted the young, black wolf, but he was still the brother she loved then and now.
Finally, he accepts and her tail is sent into a frenzy of wags. Until the heavy question falls from his lips and she is pushed back to her haunches. Tilting her head to the side, she gave her brother a curious stare as she pondered his question. What sort of unforgiveable things? Could she live with herself should they do the unspeakable, what ever that may be?
Idrisa thought long and hard, but realized the answer was already there. No matter what, she was here for him. They had to stick together now that they were alone in the world. Though she would never admit it, she was much like her father and his father before him. When it came to blood, she would rather shed another's over her family's.
With a nod, she answered Aspis' question. "I have your back, Aspis. You can count on me!"
