THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

I had this email from Peter Wong in California to say the old girl is still going strong and well over 50 years old It is a ferret Colin Bounty use to work on and I know the Bentley that TD Loyd Jones had which Colin also worked on is still going strong

Hello, Mr Dennis Laverick,

Enclosed are two photos of Ferret 00DC31 at the July 4 parade in San Jose, California 2018.
This vehicle was formerly stationed in Hong Kong in 1968 and was Colin Boutty's vehicle.
I had made contact with him some years ago and I understand he has passed away in 2015.
May he Rest in Peace.

The pretty lady on the vehicle is my dance partner and she drove in the parade while I sat on the turret and waved at the crowd. Everyone wondering what is a British Ferret doing in the celebration of American Independence parade. The unit markings on my Ferret was spurious as I did not know what LF had while serving in Hong Kong. I also found evidence that this vehicle was posted to Northern Ireland after Hong Kong because there was a shocker device made out of a Centurion coil.

Regards, Peter Wong

Dennis Laverick notes
I spent 2 days on the top of that ferret when in Hong Kong we where on exersice and did a beach landing from HMS Euryalus (Stonecutters I think) I had got a splinter in my thumb (my running day up razor back) and they operated on it on Euryalus as it went septic when they put me ashore later I was put with Recce (Joe Eastwood) until we could catch up to my Company again
