At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

Test My Will, Test My Heart

Being trained for battle and being in a battle were entirely different things. Adara thought that she could imagine what it was actually like to go to war, but as she was now in the heat of battle she realized that she did not. Everything was happening so quickly that it was hard for her to keep track of where her friends were and where her enemies were. Before she could let herself get overwhelmed, she knew she just had to throw herself into it. Standing here trying to process what was happening was not going to help the situation at all. With a deep inhale to give herself courage, Adara leapt into the fray, going after the vampire that had been trying to drown her brother. As she ran into battle, she somehow fell in line with another vampire. Her gaze flickered to him, but it seemed that he was not attacking her, so she kept her focus on Draven, wanting to help Aindreas if she could. The male had his back to her, so she was able to surprise him and easily sunk her teeth into his hind limb, and with a growl and a quick jerking motion, she felt the femur pop out of the socket. Her fangs dug in hard, hoping to do more lasting damage than just dislocating the leg, but she had at least been successful there and hopefully it would make things harder for Draven to defend himself. Before Adara could launch another attack on the vampire, she felt intense deep pain in her own left hind limb, and she let out a scream as teeth punctured her nerve. She had been so focused on getting to the vampire that she had been foolish enough to not pay attention to the other wolves in the battle.

With a snarl the femme whipped around, and stumbled, realizing that her left limb was useless to her now. While it had not been dislocated as she had just done, the sciatic nerve had been damaged enough to render the leg paralyzed. The young femme was crying and apologizing as she attacked the tempest, and Adara’s face wrinkled in confusion. This stranger had just permanently damaged her leg and she was sorry? Wasn’t she on the vampires’ side…shouldn’t she be happy? The confusion as to what was going on gave the stranger enough time to launch another attack at her, but Adara was able to half leap aside. If her limb wasn’t dead to her then maybe she could have fully turned around to dodge the attack better, but she had not and she once more felt pain, but this time on her right hind. Luckily she had at least partially dodged this time though, otherwise she would have been entirely useless if she had a broken right hind limb as well. But Laenaya’s fangs still made enough contact to rip through her muscles. Adara could tell that this girl did not want to fight, but if she didn’t do something then it would be her that would be hurt or killed. Trying not to look at the face that was clearly distraught about what she was doing, Adara finished turning full circle and did her best to lunge at the left front limb of the female. She could not get her full strength behind it with two injured hind limbs, but her right was still functional enough to propel her, even though every move with the limb caused her more pain. She aimed lower at the antebrachium, hoping to get enough force to break bone, but if she couldn’t she would yank the limb away, trying to dislocate it if the femme attempted to dodge away from her.

Bright blue orbs only just caught the sight of a familiar face launching at her. Sebring was trying to get to Adara’s jugular, but luckily the tempest had enough time to back peddle and pull away from the attack. Surely it would have killed her if she had not gotten out of the way. Panting heavily, her eyes widened in surprise to see Sebring coming after her. In the distant she heard her father call out his mate’s name as well, but he was busy going after another. Adara couldn’t get herself to try and harm Sebring, not knowing that she was one of the most kind hearted wolves out there. There was a mistake somehow, she would not be attacking any wolf in her right mind. ”Sebring!? What’s wrong with you?” But Adara knew that something had to be wrong for her to go for a fatal attack, so if she just stood here then it would lead to her getting killed most likely. Hoping that she had injured the stranger enough to not need to worry about her, but still keeping half an eye on Laenaya, Adara threw her body at Sebring, being careful not to get herself too close to her teeth that could very well come after her again. She tried to do like what her and her brother had done when they had wrestled as pups, attempting to use her body weight and momentum to off balance Sebring and get her to the ground, pinning her but not wanting to cause any actual harm to her friend. If Sebring did try to bite her again, she would attempt to use her own teeth to grab her scruff, hopefully not doing any real damage, but just enough to keep herself from being injured.
