Warning This Post Contains Some Cussing

“Fuck off, were friends I don’t know where you are every bloody second of every damn day,” she snaps back just as quick, though the actually heat in her words isn’t really for Tahl. Bryar wouldn’t say it out loud but maybe there’s some feelings of guilt behind it, some unspoken anger at herself. Maybe she was thinking that she was a shit friend, that she’d had to learn about the drama at the castle and the problems her friend was facing from a piece of paper she couldn’t even read. Bryar was ready to jump on him again when he started calling her ‘not normal’. What the fuck was normal? What was fun about staying in your bedroll and missing out on life? These arguments and more were ready on her lips but they died as Tahl’s words lost there sharpness and turned into soft grumbles. So instead she let it go in an uncharacteristic gesture, she may not be sorry that she put them in this position but she did like Tahl enough that he could almost make her feel bad for making him uncomfortable; almost.

“I don’t need this,” the words are half muffled by the jumper as she pulls it on over her head. Stubbornness ran in her blood so there was no way she was going to admit out loud that she was shivering because she was cold. She was perfectly fine, the jumper was just you know.... nice? Thankfully she was saved from discussing it further by the arrived of the Cu-sith and Tahl’s lack of balance. She was very grateful for the appearance of the green hound, it meant that Tristan had to be nearby somewhere. Another thing she wouldn’t admit out loud but that was little bit of a relief. Whilst she didn’t mind trekking around the forest for another few hours she wasn’t sure she could convince Tahl to do the same. She pushed the sleeve of the jumper up past her hand so she could give Cel another scratch behind his ears before the beast bounded off.

When Cel returned to woof at them Bryar grinned an scrambled after him, “Come on! Cel’ll take us the rest of the way”. Because of course she’d known where they were going all along. Cel was the best and Bryar followed him through the forest with complete faith. It took a little while to get there but she felt the excitement jolt through her when they began to hear noises. It wasn’t unsurprising that they got a few stares from the followers as the followed the rather large green beast into the camp. But being with Tristan’s familiar meant nobody bothered to stop them. Bryar didn’t mind he curious glance but was more likely to pull faces at anyone she caught watching too long.

At first she was confused when Cel stopped walking and barked at them, wondering what was going on. It took her a moment to get the message but she stayed put as the dog vanished inside the tent he’d brought them to. She turned a beaming smile on Tahl instead, “See, said I’d find it”.

In the moments waiting she fidgeted and tried not to just march inside. Really? Why were they waiting out here? Thankfully it didn’t take that long for Tristan to emerge and that smile was back in place for her friend. “That I’m the worst?” she grinned back in greeting and punched him solidly in the arm. Grin turned into a scowl as he insulted her, “Fuck off you wanker, you’ve not had half the night I’ve had, walking round these pissing woods looking for you”. Her serious expression was broken quickly by an easy laugh, “I missed you, you bastard”.

Her eyes dart back to Captain uncomfortable when Tristan notices him. She grins at Tahl first, “this is Tris, Tris this is Tahl, dudes like my brother. Runs with some hunters I know. Play nice.” The last instruction was for both of them, guys could be weird. “You got any food round here? Or more booze?” Only now was she alerted to the empty slightly nauseous feeling in her stomach.
