Many wolves looking for relaxation come to Blossom Field. A gentle breeze vibrating the blossoming flowers is quite a sight to see and it is quite a favourite for wolves to come with their mates.
A recent fire has ruined the scenery, half the field covered with soot and marked with scars of the flames. The other half is untouched, however.

The world around the male had gone dark as unconsciousness took over. He had already gone through a similar experience in the past, but he had no memory of this and would have no memory of what would occur until he woke again. The magic that had escaped from the lands all those years ago still had times where it would leak out of the earth in mini explosion like events, affecting any who were near enough to be touched. When Grey Wind first got his scales, he felt foolish with them. He had always been proud of his sleek silver grey pelt, always in pristine condition. And it had become tainted with lightly colored, pink hued scales of another being. A wolf was not meant to be adorned with such things, and he wished he could rip them out. To his credit, he had tried to dislodge them from his limbs, and it had felt like ripping out his own skin. If it had just been pain he would have sucked it up and done it, or enlisted Macaria’s help to rip the wretched things out. But they just wouldn’t come out, not unless he dug under his own skin to get them out. And he didn’t want to marr his form anymore and make it worse than it already was, so he had come to accept his adorned legs. Little did the brute know that he would be getting even more scales to cover his form. Not his entire form though, but just more parts of him. It was like the magic wanted to help protect him and was giving him battle armor. While he was unconscious more scales came to pop out of his skin, covering his muzzle and going under his eyes, in a mask like fashion. Luckily he was unconscious for the event or he would have felt the pain of them pushing through his skin. Instead when he blurrily came back to the world there was an intense itching, almost burning sensation, on his face. Pushing his face into the dirt he moved it left and right, trying to get rid of the furious itch that was going on. Finally he took a paw to scratch at it, and was surprised when his paws felt something hard rather than his soft fur. Shaking his head in confusion he got to his paws, trying to figure out what was going on. It was still night time, so unless an entire day had passed he had not been unconscious for too long. Blinking out the weird feeling from his brain, he began heading back in the direction of home, unsure of what had happened to him. He didn’t know that anything was different about himself until he stopped at a stream for a drink and saw his reflection. A gasp escaped him when he saw what was no on his face. The same colored scales that he had on his limbs had come around his muzzle under his eyes to mask his features. While last time he thought they were stupid looking, this time they weren’t as bad. Maybe he was just used to having them already, or maybe the area was just right that they blended with his features better. Whatever it was, he didn’t hate them. He didn’t love them either though, and if given the choice he wouldn’t have them there. But he knew from experience that there was no way to get rid of them, not without possibly permanently messing up his face. And that was not something he wanted to risk. With a sigh he moved on from the stream, heading back to his family. While he had only been gone for a short while he was ready to see his mate and pups again.
