while he remained worried, it eased his mind a little bit when he saw a little light return to the painted stallions eyes. he watched him take in his surroundings a bit now that he had quenched his thirst and was surprised how touched he seemed when roarke offered his help and home. what kind of life must he have for that to be so significant? roarke politely looks away, letting the smaller stallion regain himself and then turns back to smile cheerfully in his direction, hoping that the troubled look in his eye can be driven away somehow by his company.
well i’m very glad you did wash up here to be honest… well… that came out wrong…. i mean, i’m glad you came here but i wish it wasn’t under these circumstances, whatever they are… i have been alone here for a long time and a friend is just what I need. he babbles, feeling awkward and hoping he hasn’t made an idiot in front of his first potential friend since coming to the islands. this is atlantis. a deserted island apparently, except for me. and now you.
it is his own fault really that he has been alone all this time, that he has not wandered out to seek mares or meet other territory leaders. while loneliness has come creeping in often enough he still hasn’t been desperate enough to leave the place he has fallen so in love with, from each leafy palm to the shining diamond-grains of sand that litter his beach. he wonders if his company will enjoy the place just as much and hopes the gentle beauty of this land will rejuvenate him and that he will stay until he is fully recovered.
