Name: Kagaku . . . but they have gone only by the Scientist for years.

Age: adult

Gender: the Scientist is biologically male, but goes by they/them pronouns.

Appearance: Even if they weren't Zaba, the Scientist would still be a striking kalak. They push the limits of height for a maned wolf, towering over most other males, but they lack the athletic musculature of their warrior counterparts; it is clear that they have devoted most of their time to improving their mind, not their body. However, one would probably call Kaga "slender" or "elegant" before they called them "frail" - for the Scientist is not scrawny nor sickly. Their slate-grey eyes shine bright with vitality and curiosity and burning intelligence, always observing and learning and seeming to crinkle at the edges with barely contained laughter. They are a piebald leucistic kalak with the traditional ginger pelt, but in possession of ivory gloves instead of black, with a large white splash upon their chest. Their main median silver facial marking is that of a healer . . . despite the fact the Scientist has perhaps done more harming than healing in their lifetime. Both their mother and father were also healers, so similar rhomboid markings shine above each eye. Their claws are, of course, silver.

Personality: Cheerful. Energetic. Easy-going. Kaga comes off as the type of person you would want to be your doctor, as they are incredibly knowledgeable with excellent bedside manner. They get along very well with pups, and earn the trust of adults with minimum conflict. They are definitely a leader, and have headed all of the experiments they design themselves. But what most wolves don't realize at first is that the Scientist has terrifyingly little regard for the lives of others. They want to make you better, yes . . . but if you have a condition they could learn from, they will deliberately keep you sick. Everyone is just a subject to them, another fun rat to play with. Kaga feels no remorse for the subjects that don't make it, and is happy to discard those they have already used. When their patience is tested, the falsely warm exterior they exude rapidly turns cold.

Breed: Zaba

History: the Scientist has gained fame throughout the Zaba people for the gains they have made in medicine and other related discoveries. They were part of the group that force-fed their sacred plant to slaves, giving rise to the first of the Zaba. They also ran multiple experiments to help determine how non-kalaks might change into kalaks. Their studies have unearthed cures for common ailments, developed powerful aphrodisiacs, formed successful anti-pain medications, and overall increased the longevity and quality of life for the Zaba. For these reasons and more, the Scientist is well-known and often celebrated - and although no Zaba is free from the strict caste system, the Scientist navigates ranks and tribes with almost unlimited freedom. Word of the wonders of Blossom Forest has reached their ears at last, and so they come seeking adventure and new knowledge.
