"I'm sorry," Iliamna blurted as the fox-like wolf jumped away, whining. "I didn't mean - I wasn't -" What could she say? Did she look enough like a thief, a remorseless robber, that even strangers would fear her? "I'm sorry," she repeated in a defeated tone, backing away from the other female. "I wouldn't have done it if I didn't have to... I mean, no... I know I shouldn't have... I really am sorry, I promise!"

Oh, what was she doing, apologizing to someone she didn't even know for something she'd most likely never even heard of? I'm such an idiot. The definitely-a-wolf-even-though-she-looks-very-foxlike's next words only confirmed that. "No! I mean - you just looked... like a fox. Orange. Pointy muzzle. But - you smelled like a wolf... and the feathers - I just wanted to make sure. I'm sorry." The last two words were uttered in a tone one might use if one was trying to defend her actions but found that her argument was utterly pathetic, which was exactly what Iliamna was feeling.

"I'm Iliamna." she mumbled in response to Olya's question. "...mane? I see no mane, other than your feathers, which are more like a cape... unless that was what you were talking about - ah, I guess I'm not very good at talking to people either." Though that hadn't been the case before, where she'd been with her pack, where she belonged. Stealing from a good friend and then getting kicked out really hadn't been the best for her social skills.
