Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

- Zelda -

She had been curious about the silence since Spring. Blackthorne in particular seemed to fall off the map, but she had learned that apparently he had spawn now running about the lands from when Elohim visited. Was that was caused his silence? Or was there something else transpiring across Moladion she needed to worry about? She had been thinking about it for some time, maybe Blackthorne was learning why Aster and Pine so easily caved when he threatened Aspis and Whisper. She wanted to believe that maybe he was figuring it out, maybe even getting a bit of understanding, but no, she didn’t think he was capable, even if it was his own children. She had thought about sending Tepi out in the silence to steal some of Iromar’s pack members, but that would be inviting more chaos and trouble for the rest of her pack, a pack she swore she would keep peaceful for as long as she could. The desire for information wasn’t outweighed by that currently, and she was fairly certain she could try to exhaust peaceful methods before diving in and stealing members to take it.

The opportunity to find out what happened would come sooner or later. She would keep the scouts, thieves and assassins on it best she could. A sigh escaped her maw, Zelda didn’t leave Taviora often, she made her diplomatic trip to Diveen to meet with Arturio at last and it came up with little that helped with anything. She was expecting today to be rather routine though, which was good, it felt like things were normal, almost peaceful and anxiety flared up immediately wondering what was going on she didn’t know about in Moladion since it had been so long since things had been what she would consider at peace.

Thankfully it seemed someone had news, or at least a little information about the goings on. Her ears twitched at the sound of someone approaching her now thoroughly beautiful den. It was quite the site to see Dexter weaving around all the flowers and bushes that were laid out. Lazarus really meant it when he said he would make call kinds of flowers grow here, and he had, the flowers were planted and arranged and he was always making changes and additions, her den felt more like home, and place that she could find peace more than ever before since he had come to join them in Taviora. Part of her wondered if it was their bond, or if it was just all the changes he made. It was probably both. She still really hadn’t told many others what her relationship was towards him yet, they weren’t mates, but he stayed around often, so it was probably obvious to anyone that they were imprints despite her tight lips about the subject.

Zelda smiled at the male, she was always happy to have her Uncle, really he, and she supposed Amoxtli too, were like father figures to her since her own was never around, she trusted them and loved them probably more than a typical niece would. ”News you say? You’ve been out roaming around with the others then, poking around trying to figure out why things have been so silent with our previously loud marsh lands friends? Or have you other news?” Admittedly, since forming the treaty with Asteraia, Zelda didn’t worry too terribly much about them. Yes, she knew there were cannibals, and Zelda would protect anyone that came to her pack looking for sanctuary from such, she wanted to help anyone she could dealing with them. They had stolen Shem, and Teza’s imprint, Zelda was quick to forge at least that much of a tentative pact with them if it meant her members would be left alone. ”Or is this about the boys?” For she also knew her youngest cousins had a way of getting themselves into trouble… A lot. Not without their parents trying she knew, but Zelda also didn’t mind it, sometimes she found the antics charming, lighthearted and something to chuckle about in all the serious business going on otherwise. Innocence was beautiful, but short lived. She doubted it was about them, but she couldn’t help but prod anyway, it was fun, and she couldn’t help but prod just to see if her rather even keeled Uncle could get flustered.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
