With the changes in the pack the elder male had been busy. While Nevaeh had been doing her very best to care for Orion it seemed he needed a higher level of care than initially expected. Meryl had been busy tending to the other seniors wounds and worry that he would pull through this had gone from confident to scarce in the short few days. The former queen didn’t want to hear that though. He had tried to warn her, gently as he could. He watched Nevaeh from a child, even was there for her birth, was there to try and ease her brother’s pain as he finally passed when he was but a newborn pup. Still she lashed at him though, so much like her father in those moments as she stubbornly clung to something. He didn’t blame her, it was her imprint. Again that family had the worst of tempers when someone tampered with something they new. His own heart ached for her. While Meryl was not close to the pair, he knew them well enough, Orion had been a good alpha, but now another new generation was taking up the throne.

He was on his way back to his apothecary when his black ears twitched. It seemed he needed to be able to turn ubiquitous with how much his stills had been required lately. Meryl was taking that a sign of bad news. The wolves who had come here in Spring wounded and pregnant, Orion, and now this call as well. Meryl turned his form back towards the border and soon the smell of fresh blood and open wounds met his nares. He was very familiar with the other accompanying scents as well. ”How is it that every time I meet with you two one of you is a ripped up mess?” It was half jesting half scolding as he placed his tattered fawn bag upon the ground, nosing the edges upon. ”Can you sit?” Meryl asked, partly because the male was so large and also partly because his quivering and wiggling.

Meryl saw where his right flank was tore up, his right shoulder, but the left elbow was what really caused him worry. Hopefully it wouldn’t be like that poor Senketsu fellow here the damage would be lasting. A lot of it also was dependant though on how well Beltran could listen to Meryl’s instructions. Meryl grunted as he looked through his things, the only thing he brought with him were poppies, though with as much poking and prodding to that elbow and his other wounds, he probably would need it. ”Here, swallow these seeds, and then I need you to come with me to my den. I don’t have what I need to put you back together, unfortunately.” He said nosing his bag back shut after toeing out a couple of the seeds. He walked this far, he could go a little further he thought.

”What happened?” Though by the scent on his pelt alone he could smell the stench of the moors. Meryl never would forget that smell and all of it brought up bitter, dark memories for him. Why not add one more? The question went to either or both, but if Iromar wolves were attacking Diveen wolves again it needed to be reported to their new Queen soon.
