Ruby did have to admit - this new queen was older than she had expected but surely no older than her prior leader, or rather, her mother's prior leader. It did make her wonder though - was she too old to play a part in all of this? Ah, but surely not. If she had been, somebody would have come already to take her place. The old and weak did not survive long, that much she knew. It was why her own father had vanished: he had been too weak to stay.

"Ruby," she responded simply with a small nod, her lips taut after she uttered her own name lest more slip out from between them. Her mind often became a flustered place and she had trained herself to think slowly and carefully before she spoke. Well, most of the time.

Avery's reactions to her blood were most curious to Ruby and she made no effort to hide it; when Avery had turned to fully drink her in, she had slowed and turned towards her too, the crimson smudge on her forehead and down her throat worn as proudly as that small grin that played on her lips. Her kind were few and far between, almost forgotten entirely, but it made her no less proud. Siren had seen to that the day that had come to Iromar and Zerachiel, her father, had made even more sure of it when he had been nothing but a distant memory.

The woman's mention of Andras having raised her made Ruby's head fall into a tilt though, her brows having raised before they fell more passively in sync with Avery's sudden frustration. Oh, it did intrigue her so! "I never did meet my grandsire in the flesh and yet, he lives on within my brother Obsidian as Lillith lives on through me. At least, that is what mother says. She says we speak with their voices." She grinned, a tepid thing, small and sweet before she seemed to shrug away the comment and continue moving alongside Avery. To her, such a thing had always been seen as normal. Never did it occur to her that such a 'fact' might not be, well, fact. "It seems we are more connected than I first thought. Perhaps your parents are garbage but I do not expect you to be the same if you were raised by a wolf like Andras." Ah, social tact. She still lacked it, but the way she grinned spoke volumes - it was a compliment.

She paused then. She seemed to pause in stride too before she hurried to keep tempo with Avery, and quietly cleared her throat. "Regarding your blood, however. I cannot make you a Demon but I or my brother could easily make your heirs Demons. I am young, and I have the patience to wait for a suitor. They would be of excellent breeding, I have no doubt, and I am more than capable of learning how to excel at being a good Demon in the mean time." She completed her offer with a nod of her head and a toothed grin, her tail giving a slow wave of assurance behind her as her pace seemed to become more...bouncy. There was no better way to make mother or her blood proud, after all! To return the blood of the Demons onto their rightful throne? It would be an honor! It would surely be the same for Avery, right?
