Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Faust had his suspicions about their mother’s ‘wanderings’. He knew many things about his mother. Her nomad life, her desire to explore, and Faust too felt a great desire to do nothing but travel the freelands and pass in and out of packs as he pleased. His mother brought them out and into the free lands as soon as they were able to make the walks and help hunt and do other normal survival things. Then one day… she was gone. Inexplicably gone. No words to them about where she was going or what she was doing she just didn’t come back to find them both one day when they normally met up at night. Never had she done that before. If she thought she would be gone for a few days she would tell them so, this time she had vanished and hadn’t come back.

Maybe he just couldn’t find her. No, he had followed every scent trail he could find of her and the freshest one he had found dead ended in the crags. What had happened? He had been basically living here but as days went on the trail grew more and more cold much to his absolute anger and frustration. He had failed something that was completely incomprehensible to him. Every puzzle he could at least put bits and pieces together as long as he got there soon enough after the crime. He came upon each dead creature the same way. He would calculate what killed it, why, how and when. Most, of course, were just scraps of prey left behind, but it was fun and challenging for a while to figure out what and how many had been to the corpse and figure out what they did. Most were loners, or from other predators. He was starting to put together how long a body had been there on scent, or even what scavengers and insects had come and made it home.

Maybe that was why this case was growing colder, no corpse… He never found his mother’s body, if there was one. It just bothered him greatly that she had dropped out of pattern and seemingly left him and Terra to fend for themselves. They were quite capable. If nothing else Faust knew he could go beg to his male parent’s pack for assistance, but perhaps pride was too strong. His father had a family there that did not include him or his sister. Speaking of. As he hunted the crags he smelled her scent, along with the heavy humidity that was a sure sign that MORE rain would come. How he hated rain. Its ability to ruin anything he had. He had to learn better how to predict it and calculate it into his time tables…

Faust snorted, before clambering up some rocks and towards where he thought he caught his black and gold siblings trail. It didn’t take long before his sharp golden eyes found her sticking out against the rocks. ”Terra. Why is it you have come to Susil Crags? Can you not smell the rain coming? The impending dark clouds that will thus ruin not only my day, but make it so everyone runs for the cover of the grotto or other rock formations around here. Thus ruining any and all chances of me learning anymore behaviors today?” He didn’t think Terra believed their mother had gone missing. After all their mother’s stories after all it was clear she danced with the winds. He didn’t like it though. At the very least though he would get to spend some time with Terra and learn of what she had been up to the last few days.
