She knew she had been out of the loop when it came to pack politics for a long time. Even when she was a warrior under Aithne, she didn't burden herself with knowing what the other alphas were up to. She only cared about Aithne's defense. But now, it was a whole different ball field and she knew she was at a disadvantage. The other alphas of Moladian were more established and already had allies whereas she had yet to step out of Iromar and make any herself. That would have to change. She was hoping a diplomat would have stepped forward, wanting to earn points by doing it themselves but it seemed most of the wolves so far to come to Iromar mainly just wanted a home again. That was okay, at least in writing. She still wanted wolves to pull their own weight, not that she would throw them out if they didn't. Even the general population of a pack granted it strength. It just meant she would have to shoulder more of that responsibility on herself. She would need to go see the other alphas and see where they stand. Maybe they would look at her as an untrustworthy stranger or maybe some would give her the benefit of the doubt. Only time would tell.

Right now, her pack borders were open to one and all because she needed numbers. After all, there was no Alpha without a pack. She knew she would have to work to gain their trust and loyalty but she was looking forward to that part. The politics was what was over her head, but she would adapt and learn as needed. She knew it took wolves of all kinds to make a united pack. You couldn't have a bunch of wolves who all thought the same way and expect them to always get along and cooperate. Long term, it just wouldn't work out. She was walking the borders, marking and checking for tresspassers when she came across the scent of a male. She recognized the smell as one one of the wolves who had already come forward for entry into Iromar. He said he was a hunter, if she wasn't mistaken. She didn't know his name yet but that was about to change, or so she hoped, at least. She had yet to speak to him and now was as good a time as any. So she trotted in the same direction, tracking his scent until she made out the male's figure moving with purpose across the swamp lands.

He seemed to be taking his time, getting to know the place as if it wasn't already known to him. She knew not every wolf who came here was once a pack wolf before. She liked that other wolves had an open mind enough to come here under new leadership. It made her feel hopeful that Iromar could know glory again, with old members and new. But there was an undercurrent of motivation to the male. Was he ambitious to move up in the pack or was there something else on his mind? Her ears flicked back and forth and her tail flicked behind her as she closed the distance. She gave out a bark of greeting as she got closer so he wouldn't feel like she was sneaking up on him. As she got closer, she slower to a walk then stopped a few feet away, ears pricked toward him as her lips twitched toward her try at a friendly smile. "Hi, I'm Avery. What is your name, hunter?"
