Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Return to Lunar Children

what a curious life we have found

Badar had decided upon arriving that she would not play to win. It had been an easy decision to make - she simply lacked the competitive drive other children often seemed to have. Instead, she was more fascinated by the prizes, the required items and all the wolves that gathered to seek them out or watch the festivities. The actual competitive nature did little to intrigue her, but she had still complied enough to pluck a maple leaf from one of the streams that twisted through the forest. From where it had come, she did not know but she it seemed to be the right one - shaped appropriately, a deep shade of rust, crinkled slightly but still good. With it gently held in her mouth, it seemed to give her permission to follow the other children and parade through the feast. Besides, she figured it'd make a nice gift for Eva or perhaps their mother.

One boy in particular had caught her fancy. She had been waiting by the main feast, quite eagerly watching somebody she knew to be her older brother, when she had caught a glimpse of him sneaking towards the meat that had yet to be shared. With her leaf, she had prowled after him too, taking her leave with a respectable bow before she scampered off in silence. Always in silence, of course, but she had been practicing making her body as silent as her voice.

And so she followed for some time before she made her move; just when he seemed content with his prizes, she noticed that flicker of wanting more behind his eyes. And it was then that she hurried to intercept and leapt forward to be in front of him several feet - from her jaws, the maple leaf dangled precariously. She waved it through the air, her lips turned up in a mischief-ridden grin before she raised her brows at him in challenge. He was smaller than her, younger she supposed, but she had become fascinated by how much he seemed to want to win. Why else would he steal from the feast, hm? And so, she wiggled her leaf and danced on her paws, daring him to try take it.
