Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

DECREE OF THE ALPHA UMIATSUMAK, THE “BATTLESHIP”

My dear pack . . . it still feels odd to think of you as “dear,” but although the emotions roiling within me are an unexplored continent, I know the name of this particular country. I care for all of you, each and every wolf that resides within these borders. You are each invaluable assets to Uyaraut; your diverse talents and impressive strengths make our Diamond by the Sea a force to be reckoned with and respected. Although I had hoped to be punished for my crimes, your combined wisdom allowed me to see an alternate path toward redemption . . . and a brighter future for our territory.

In fact, it was your wisdom - clear and logical in the face of my melodrama - that finally showed me what this pack truly needs. You see, it is not merely the rejection of torture as punishment that shows what exemplary individuals you are, nor is it the faithful support of your Alpha that proves your worthiness. I saw in many of you the characteristics of a real leader. A successful leader. Those whose light will guide Uyaraut into the future.

I can no longer shoulder the onus of the crown on my own. There are too many fractures in my mind that require repair, too many things I must face and improve within myself before I can be half as worthy as most of you to lead Uyaraut. Therefore, I have devised a new system of government - one that shall evenly divide the burden of the throne upon the most deserving of soldiers. It was as a group that you showed me the error of my thinking; it is as a group that we will forge Uyaraut into an army, a sanctuary brimming with life and success.

Three Kings shall cooperate with one another, each heading a different aspect of the pack’s affairs. The Unnuak, our “Wisdom of the Night,” shall act as both spy and diplomat: overseeing the workings of our pack as well as those of other kingdoms. I have chosen Frekari to fill this role, for her cunning and charisma make her a good match to represent our pack. Our Adlartok, the “Clarity of Daybreak,” ironically fits our night-hunter Macaria the best. The Adlartok acts as Head Healer for the pack and also watches over the future of Uyaraut - our pups. I trust Macaria implicitly to protect our children with merciless ferocity, while also being able to treat the most gruesome wounds. The final King is the Akkunak, the “Fury of the Storm.” Macaria’s mate Grey Wind shall claim this throne. I have known him for many years, and I firmly believe that he is perfectly suited to the task of training soldiers and helping the pack in times of emergency.

Finally, I must give praise to Madame Athene . . . I had not originally believed there would be another who would share my rank. I call myself Umiatsuak, “The Battleship.” I am not one of the three Kings, yet I will act as a fulcrum upon which the thrones of the Kings balance. I will be there to supplement the roles of each King, to assist in the pack wherever I am needed. I will be weapon, guardian, defender. And if she will accept, I would have Athene share the role alongside me as my mate - there to attenuate the powers of the Kings, and protect Uyaraut.

If you believe your throne was given to you in error, you are welcome to bestow your crown upon another you find more worthy. It is your crown to give. In addition, you may choose a second to act as your personal Beta - as well as a young heir to groom. And if anyone desires a crown who did not get one, well . . . prove yourself. Challenge the King you wish to usurp. Battle will show who is deserving.
