THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

Between 9th and 13th October 1918 the 2Bn were at Trones Wood; trenches, Lesboeufs; attack. His death on the 12th October 1918 was most probably resultant from this attack. Between the 14th and 18th the 2Bn were held in reserve at Bernafay Wood. Between the 19th and and 22nd they were again held in reserve at Flers. They were thrown back into the attack at Le Transloy. It should be noted that the attack at Le Transloy did not take place until the 23rd October. His death was on 12th and as I say probably occurred during the attack at Lesboeufs and not at Le Transloy. Where did you get your info from regard his place of death?
I can research further but it will take a little time.
Hope the info to date is helpful.
