A Spooky Coincidence

Last evening, when my wife and I were walking out of a local restaurant, after having finished our regular bi-weekly bridge game with a group of friends, a shady-looking guy in his mid-thirties stepped up to me and asked if I knew how to get to the local Interstate highway. He said that he was stuck here and needed to know how to get there..
I told him that I didn't know those directions (I really didn't), but that I was sure that the cashier in the restaurant could give him the directions.
At this point he immediately turned on his heels and walked off into the night, without saying another word.

Here's the spooky part. My wife told me that about a week ago the exact same guy stopped her when she was leaving the Senior Center, after her weekly session with her knitting group, and asked her the same question.
She said that when she gave him the directions, he asked her if she could possibly take him there. When she declined, he immediately walked away.

This guy was obviously up to no good, but what a coincidence for both my wife and I to encounter this same guy, in very different parts of a town of nearly one hundred thousand people, within the space of one week!
