At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Despite how long the two have been mates, the exhilaration that Sera feels every time they touch has not waned. She relishes contact with Vladimir so she certainly won’t complain that the winter gives her all the more reason to cozy up to him. A blush rises to her cheeks as his gentle kisses, as though she’s still just a teenager with her crush. He’s always been able to make those feelings bubble up and Sera wouldn’t trade it for the world, wouldn’t trade him for the world. Vladimir moves to stand beside her, his body heat radiating into her and chasing away some of the bitter cold. The princess leans into him gratefully as she gently teases him about the sapling and she can feel his rumbling chuckle in response, his young tenor having finally made way for a deeper, more even voice. “It had started to grow in one of the more commonly used trails, so I thought I would rehome it to a different area.” Seraphina lets out a soft hum of understanding. It’s only a tree, but Vlad’s always had a good heart. Behind his bluster, he’s truly sweet and kind, though Sera seems to be the only one he shows that side of himself to. Her tail intertwines with his and she smiles as Vladimir nuzzles her cheek. She’d have no qualms about staying like this for a while longer, but they can’t let the gull go to waste and so she pulls away from him, eyes flicking back to see if he would follow her. His azure pools are trained on her appreciatively and Sera can’t help but to give him a wink. Now fully fledged adults, they’ve both grown into their bodies and with that some new assets. Seraphina will never say “no” to her mate’s attention.

Vlad brings his sapling as he follows, but it’s quickly discarded so he can lay more kisses on her and the heat from her cheeks is enough to heat up her whole body. The prince knows exactly how to make Sera’s heart flutter and she loves him for it. “I will always find every meal more delectable when it is shared with you, no matter the courses, even if it were fish I would enjoy it simply because of your presence. You are my preferred seasoning for you make every aspect of life better simply by existing. Without you, the colors fade to dull hues and a shadows darkens the rays of light.”

“Careful, my love. You’ll have me swooning at your feet if you keep talking like that,” Sera’s only half joking. She’s lucky that they’re already mated, because if they weren’t she’d be falling for him in an instant. Vlad’s always been a romantic and between the two of them he’s certainly much better at romantic words and gestures. Sera prefers to show she loves him through her actions around him and she hopes she has. Vlad knows she loves him anyway; he can read her emotions any time he wants. Her emeralds soften as she watches him pluck the feathers from the gull and a content smile rests on her face. She’s been incredibly lucky in her life.

“I am sure the gull is fine, but I know how dearly you love the saltwater crabs in the ocean,” Seraphina’s mouth waters at the thought, “I can go snatch a few if you like. The meat should be more tender now for their shells will have hardened in preparation for the winter. All you need to do is ask.” Sera shakes her head gently. Crab would be delicious, but there’s no need. She waits for her mate to take the first bite of the gull.

“Like you said, any meal is perfect when I’m with you.” The pair make quick work of the bird and briefly she mentions the sapling again, nodded at Vlad’s response and then dropping the subject entirely, bringing up their children and their adolescence instead. Like all parents, she wishes she could protect them forever, but Sera knows they have to branch out and do things for themselves.

“You’re beautiful,” Vladimir murmurs and Sera bumps him gently with her paw, a shy smile on her face. “We were children when we had them - them and the rest of them. We were gifted with so many wonderful pups so young, we are lucky and blessed.” The princess hums in agreement. They truly are. “But I agree - time is passing so quickly, I fear that they are now susceptible to the evils of the world. I want them to be forever young so I can keep them safe and sweet, so the world cannot strip them of their innocence. I don’t know what I would do were Ziva or Qiturah to be in the family way… I would probably hunt down whoever impregnated them and kill them. Or at least maim them.” Ah, there’s the fiery Oferweder temper. Sera can only sigh as she watches Vladimir stalk into the water.

“They’re strong girls - I trust them to make good decisions and take care of themselves. And we aren’t exactly the poster for practicing what you preach… Besides, if they do start a family at least it will be with their soulmates. I’m quite excited for them to find them. Hopefully they’ll find someone as loving to them as you are to me.” Sera didn’t know of the distaste both of her daughters held for soulmate business. It had been Vladimir who has talked to the children after their transformation and Sera tried to stay out of the magic side of things. Should either of the girls wish to talk to her about love she’d welcome them with open arms, but she could never really understand the feelings of Tempests.

There’s a splash as Vlad’s head enters the icy water and jerks out almost as quickly, a large crab between his jaws. Seraphina dances closer to the water’s edge, though careful to keep her paws dry, to greet the prince and his prize. Despite finishing the gull only moments ago, she can’t help but to run her tongue over her teeth in anticipation for the crab. Though the sharp growl and ensuing curses that fall from Vladimir’s lips do send her to his side instantly, crab unable to compete with her mate. She eyes his wounded nose and frowns before gently licking at the wound to clean it. Seeing as he's caught the crab for her, it's the least she can do for him.

“Snack number two served, my lady… the battle was fierce and hard and long, but I persevered.” Sera can’t help the giggle that escapes her and she places a paw on her chest dramatically.

“My knight in shining armor... whatever would I do without my savior?” She pads over to be closer to Vladimir and nuzzles him lightly. “What can I do to reward your efforts? Some crab? A kiss? There is no request too big or too small; your wish is my command, good sir.” As she waits for the prince to give his answer, she turns her attention to one of the crab legs and slurps at the meat, so soft and tender it practically melts in her mouth. Sera’s never had crab so good as this. “You really should try this, Vladimir, it’s divine. Your battle scar shouldn’t be for nothing.”
